Find out more »Weekly Butterfly & Bee Survey at Peel Park and the Coppice LNR
Join us every Tuesday @1pm (weather permitting) until September 2024. The transects start in Pleck Meadow and go around the whole site, where participants will count and ID every butterfly or bee they see. This data will then be submitted to UKBMS and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust respectively. Join us for a soil testing workshop and learn how to test soil for pH, potassium, nitrogen and phosphorus levels. We'll be testing the soil from the old bowling green at Bullough Park, Accrington. We'll dig up small samples from across the green and then test the samples using a soil testing kit. The results will help us to decide which varieties of fruit trees we will plant next year.
