a 3-year project to conserve and manage 10 of Hyndburn's woodlands
The PROSPECTS Foundation has received funding to continue working on 10 Hyndburn woodlands owned by Lancashire County Council.
Supported through funding from Lancashire County Council, Hyndburn Borough Council and the Windfall Community Benefit Fund, the project will manage these woodlands to help conserve them for the future. The project will involve local people, schools and volunteers in learning about, surveying and helping to protect these woodlands. The project will have a range of volunteering opportunities in both practical management and surveying skills along with public events including walks and events.
The 3-year project will be led by the Hyndburn Woodlands Officer, Brandon Cherry, and will run until July 2026.
You can become a regular volunteer or just come along to individual events and activities. Details will be available through our mailing list so please sign up if you haven’t already (the sign up box is at the top of this page). All of our events are also posted on our events calendar.
The 10 woodland sites are: Woodnook Vale, Jubilee Woodland, Whinney Hill 1, Whinney Hill 2, Huncoat East, Huncoat West, Martholme Greenway, Rushton House Farm Wood, Abbott Clough and Warcocks Green.
