Baxenden

The Baxenden Community Forum was set up prior to Prospects, back in 1996.  This means that the Forum has a wider remit than some other Prospects Panels as it also carries out civic, as well as environmental activities, in Baxenden.

Over the years the Forum has worked on, and initiated, a number of environmental community projects including;

Creating the Baxenden Jubilee Walk (a 3-mile circular walk starting at the Haworth Art Gallery).

Annual Bat & Fungi walks (usually in September/October)

Access and habitat improvements in Hollins Woodland (including new footpaths, new hedgerow, woodland management, bird boxes and a new bench)

Access and habitat improvement along Woodnook Vale (including new benches, willow sculptures, bird and bat boxes, themed walks, bird survey, maintaining footpaths and clean-ups)

Organising the Bash Fair

The Forum is currently (Sep 19) working with Prospects to carry out further access and habitat improvements in Hollins, Jubilee Plantation and Woodnook Vale.

The Forum has a Facebook page (search for Baxenden Community Forum on Facebook) if you would like to know more.

The group usually meets at 7.30pm on the 4th Monday of each month in the Alma Inn on Manchester Road.  All are welcome to attend.
