Memorial Park – Red Flowering Currant Removal and Rhody clearing
Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions, every Wednesday at Memorial Park in Great Harwood. This week, we will be using hand tools to remove Red Flowering Currant which has begun encroaching into the woodland. The transects start in Pleck Meadow and go around the whole site, where participants will count and ID every butterfly or bee they see. This data will then be submitted to UKBMS and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust respectively.
