Bat Walk at Jackhouse Nature Reserve
Join us for a walk around the reserve to look for bats! Our local 'Batman' Roger Cunliffe will be leading the walk and letting us know all about the fascinating world of bats. Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions. This week, we will be back at Whinney Hill woodland carrying out INNS (Invasive Non-Native Species) removal. This will take the form of 'Henry's Honeysuckle' removal. This plant is a garden escapee that is smothering a young Oak and encroaching its way into the native wildflower meadow. The Friends of Arden Hall & The Coppice are running monthly volunteer sessions to get the community involved at Peel Park & the Coppice LNR. On Sunday 19th October, (9:30am-11:30am,) the Friends group will be litter-picking and tidying paths, starting at the car park.
