Whinney Hill – Hyndburn’s Woodlands
Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions. This week, we will be back at Whinney Hill woodland carrying out a Balsam Bash. Tasks include using scythes and dashel bashers to clear Balsam from the site. Tools, gloves and PPE will be provided. Please wear sturdy boots, long sleeves and full length trousers. Brookside Thursday Volunteer Workparty (Thursday Gang)
Join Alice for seasonal habitat improvement work (and of course, biscuits!) We meet at the Noticeboard by the Stanhill Road entrance to the site at 10am (see the map below) All are welcome but under 18s must be supervised by an adult. Waterproofs, boots, and sturdy clothes are highly recommended. Access can be uneven and boggy, so these sessions are not suitable for those with limited mobility.
