WOODY is the name of our woodland social enterprise.  Set up by Prospects in 2012 it is run by volunteers who look after and manage local woodlands in Hyndburn.

This week we’ll be continuing to install our rather impressive flight of steps from the bottom path up to the new butterfly meadow.  There was already a desire line path but it was always wet, slippy and somewhat dangerous to use which put people off from visiting the meadow.

Throughout the summer of 2019 our hardy band of volunteers have installed steps using timber and reclaimed stone to create an accessible path linking to the 59 steps at the other end of the meadow.  This has helped to create a new circular walk on the site.

We meet at 10.00am at the Livingstone Road entrance to the Whinney Hill site and then trvael to the work area.  Brews are provided but please bring your own lunch.

We work in all weathers so please wear suitable clothing for the day.
