It’s that time of year again! Pleck Meadow will be receiving it’s 5th annual cut and collect on Monday 7th September.

A “cut and collect” is a meadow management technique used to reduce nutrients in a wildflower meadow. Low nutrient soil prevents injurious weeds and coarse grasses from dominating and allows a wider variety of wildflowers to establish, providing a greater benefit to local wildlife.

We need help from volunteers to marshal and keep an eye out for critters like frogs and voles. Find us any time between 9am – 3pm at Pleck Meadow.

Join us for our Hyndburn’s Nature Reserves project! There will be weekly conservation volunteers sessions at Peel Park and the Coppice Local Nature Reserve, every Monday from 10am – 1pm. Come along to learn new skills, meet people, keep fit and help wildlife!
