Memorial Park – Mahonia Removal and Wildflower Seed Sowing

Wednesday, April 24 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions, every Wednesday at Memorial Park in Great Harwood.

This week, we will be using hand tools to remove the invasive non-native plant Mahonia from Round Wood. Secondary tasks include sowing wildflower seeds into Round Wood in the areas of bare ground creating by the Rhododendron and Cherry Laurel felling works.

Tools, gloves and PPE will be provided. Please wear sturdy boots, long sleeves and full length trousers as we may be working around brambles and nettles. Waterproofs may be needed, depending on the weather.

We will be meeting on Church Lane, Great Harwood, BB6 7PU. Staff will be in orange high-vis.

To find out more or confirm your attendance, please contact Brandon at brandon.cherry@prospectsfoundation.org.uk or 07733 840842
