Join Prospects and Lancashire County Council Ranger, Paul Shoreman, for a one-day orienteering training session. Paul manages around 85 sites across Lancashire and will be teaching you:

• The different types of maps
• Map interpretation (including symbols, distances, footpaths, access areas etc)
• Information about grid references
• How to use a compass
• Route plotting

Throw aside those pesky apps and instead take a peak into the (perhaps) forgotten art of map reading.

There will be a combination of classroom first (at The Woodnook Centre) then out and about to practice. Dress in accordance to the forecast and wear good sturdy footwear. Bring packed lunch.
