SUMMARY:Maps and Compass Training Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Prospects and Lancashire County Council Ranger\, Paul Shoreman\, for a one-day orienteering training session. Paul manages around 85 sites across Lancashire and will be teaching you: \n\nThe different types of maps\nMap interpretation (including symbols\, distances\, footpaths\, access areas etc)\nInformation about grid references\nHow to use a compass\nRoute plotting\n\nThrow aside those pesky apps and instead take a peak into the (perhaps) forgotten art of map reading. \nThere will be a combination of classroom first (at The Woodnook Centre) then out and about to practice. Dress in accordance to the forecast and wear good sturdy footwear.
