HUNCOAT TRAIL WALK
Saturday, November 9, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Join us for a celebratory walk of the Huncoat Trail. A 9.5 mile walk around Huncoat devised by Roy Chetham.
Roy passed away earlier this year and the Huncoat Forum and Prospects are hosting a walk of the trail to celebrate Roy and to thank him for all his voluntary work in Huncoat over many years.
The walk will start at 10.00am from the Peace Garden on the junction of Highergate Road and Burnley Lane in Huncoat (map below). As 9.5 miles is quite a long way we will be splitting the Trail in two sections, a lower level one including the canal, and a higher level one including the Coppice and Hameldon Scouts.
We’ll set off at 10.00am on the lower level walk and will return to the Peace Garden at 12.00pm to set off on the higher level section.
As with all walks and at this time of the year please wear strong boots, expect wet weather and muddy ground conditions. As it’s a relatively long walk please bring a drink and some refreshments as we’ll take a few breaks along the way.
