Brookside Spring Maintenance Day
Thursday, May 30, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Join our Brookside Restoration Coordinator Alice for a day of practical maintenance work on the brand new Brookside Site!
Spring has sprung and Brookside is flush with new leaves, flowers, and wildlife. Unfortunately, the arrival of warmer weather means that the invasive non-native Himalayan Balsam is rapidly growing and spreading, and will soon be forming seed pods ready to take over more of the site.
With your help, we can “bash” the Balsam into submission, and allow native species to thrive.
We will also be removing tree guards that have been left on site since the ELWOOD planting scheme of the early 2000s, which will keep our precious trees healthy as they mature.
Meeting point is the Kemp Delph entrance to Brookside, on Stanhill Road. Staff will be in orange hi-vis.
