The Windfall Fund has been established from proceeds from the Hyndburn wind farm on Oswaldtwistle Moor. It is the community benefit fund provided by EnergieKontor, the wind farm developer. The wind farm became operational in November 2012 and The PROSPECTS Foundation secured an agreement with EnergieKontor to manage the Fund on their behalf for the lifetime of the wind farm. This means money is available for environmental projects in Hyndburn for at least the next 15-20 years!
The Windfall Fund itself was launched in April 2013. As of November 2025, over £1,260,000 of funding has been awarded to 283 local projects through the Windfall Fund.

We also run visits for schools and other community groups to have a look round the wind farm, to get up close and personal with the wind turbines and look at the moorland management that has been taking place on Oswaldtwistle Moor to improve this valuable habitat.
