Whinney Hill – Hyndburn’s Woodlands
Tuesday, March 25, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions. This week, we will be back at Whinney Hill woodland. This time, we will be removing Invasive Non-Native Small-leaved Cotoneaster. Secondary tasks include removing a downed tree and making repairs to a fence if we have time.
Tasks include using loppers and secateurs to remove much of the foliage of the Cotoneaster, followed by using spades to remove the root ball.
Tools, gloves and PPE will be provided. Please wear sturdy boots, long sleeves and full length trousers.
We will be meeting at the Thorneyholme entrance to the site, BB5 5FW (Just next to the play area). There is on-street parking available. Staff will be in orange hi-vis.
