Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions. This week, we will be back at Whinney Hill woodland. This time, we will be scything the butterfly glade located at the top of the woodland. Tasks include scything the grassy areas, using hand tools to cut back woody vegetation, and litter picking.
Tools, gloves and PPE will be provided. Please wear sturdy boots, long sleeves and full length trousers as we may be working around brambles and nettles. Waterproofs may be needed, depending on the weather. Please remember to bring spare water this activity can be quite demanding.
