Big Butterfly Count at Peel Park and the Coppice LNR

Friday, August 2, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

PROSPECTS will be taking part in the Big Butterfly Count in July & August! Novice or expert, join us in the national event to help monitor the health of butterfly populations! The sessions will include a walk and 15 minute stop in a sunny location to count any visiting butterflies.

There will be two official sessions at Peel Park & the Coppice LNR, meet in the Peel Park Car Park:

  • Tuesday 30th July – 10am – 12pm
  • Friday 2nd August – 1pm – 3pm

You can choose which day is best for you (or attend both!)

If you’d like to take part in the Big Butterfly Count in your own garden or green space, then check the Butterfly Conservation Website for more information.

All counts are subject to weather conditions, for more info, contact Robert:

The walk will follow the same route as transect route for bee and butterfly surveys! We will be making a stop in Pleck Meadow and on top of the Heathland.

If you are interested in attending surveys throughout the year, would like more information, or would like to notified if/when a survey is not going ahead, get in touch with Robert:
