Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions.

This week we will be at Huncoat East woodland carrying out a deadhedging session. Tasks include coppicing hazel for material, using axes to chip cut wood to a point, hammering stakes into the ground, and layering lengths of wood between the stakes to establish a dead-hedge.

We will be meeting at the layby on Altham Lane (closest postcode is 27 Altham Lane, BB5 5US, just after the motorway bridge on Google Maps).

There is limited parking on the layby, but there is a second layby further down.
