Himalayan Balsam Bashing – Hyndburn’s Nature Reserve Volunteers session @Jackhouse nature reserve
Wednesday, June 17 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

The dreaded Invasive Non-Native Himalayan Balsam is rearing its ugly head again and we need your help to reduce its spread! Balsam can spread and dominate habitats unchecked which vastly reduces biodiversity as it outcompetes native wildflowers and starves pollinators like many solitary bees and butterflies. We will be pulling and/or bashing balsam across the site this summer.
Join us for our Hyndburn’s Nature Reserves project! There will be fortnightly conservation volunteers sessions at Jackhouse nature reserve, on Wednesdays. Come along to learn new skills, meet people, keep fit and help wildlife!
Park on Fieldings Lane, it is then a 10 minute walk to the entrance of Jackhouse nature reserve where we will be meeting.
