Big Butterfly Count @ Brookside

Tuesday, July 29, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join PROSPECTS as we take part in the UK’s biggest insect monitoring scheme. This session will take place at Brookside, as part of our series of events across our reserves.

  • Date: Tuesday 29th of July
  • Time: 11am-1pm
  • Meeting Location: The Noticeboard off Stanhill Road, on the path to Kemp Delph

Each big butterfly count will entail a 15 minute observation in a park, allotment or wildlife reserve, to count every butterfly that is using the area.

Not only does it provide us useful data on what pollinators are using our green spaces, it contributes to a huge pool of data collected by participants nationwide. Butterfly Conservation’s expert data analysts are then able to use this huge pool of data to inform our understanding of butterfly populations in the UK.

Family-friendly, under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
