Join our ‘Green Team’ of conservation volunteers led by our Green Spaces staff members: Helen, Brandon & Chloe.

This week we will be at Huncoat East woodland carrying out some practical land management and Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) control. Tasks will include scything the outdoor learning area and balsam bashing. There could potentially be a secondary task of scything the meadow in the adjacent Huncoat West woodland if we have time.

Tools, gloves and PPE will be provided. Please wear sturdy boots (ideally hardened toe-caps), long sleeves and full length trousers. Prepare to get a bit mucky!

We will be meeting at the layby on 27 Altham Lane, Accrington, Lancashire BB5 5UR. There is parking at the 2 laybys adjacent to the woods. Staff will be wearing an orange hi-vis.
