The Prospects Foundation and Hyndburn Borough Council are very excited to announce the return of the much loved Brookside Volunteer Sunday sessions!

This month, we’ll be making a start with the coppicing work that needs doing around site! Tasks include using hand tools like bow saws and loppers to fell small trees, and processing the arisings for use in later sessions.

All are welcome but under 18s must be supervised by an adult. We recommend that all participants should be comfortable walking unaided for a minimum of 20 minutes.

We meet at the Noticeboard by the Stanhill Road entrance to the site  – see the map below!

Waterproofs, boots, and sturdy clothes are highly recommended. Gloves and tools will be provided!

Access can be uneven and boggy, so these sessions are not suitable for those who rely on mobility aids. We are working hard to improve the accessibility of the site.
