Bilberry-picking Walk @Peel Park and the Coppice LNR
Sunday, July 12 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join Prospects for a guided walk through the Peel Park Heathland, where we will be collecting native bilberries to sow/spread, (and you can take some for your own use.) The walk will be a great opportunity to learn about the wildlife at The Coppice and how Prospects is helping to support it. (The walk is steep but wheelchair/mobility scooter accessible.)
Bilberry (also known as Wimberry, Whinberry, Wild Blueberry, Blaeberry, Whortleberry, etc., etc.,) are an important food source for many animals. The berries are favoured by wild birds and small mammals, but their flowers also provide an important nectar source for spring pollinators like bumblebees.
Date: Sunday 12th July
Time: 1pm – 3pm
Location: The Coppice Car Park, BB5 6HL
