Thanks to funding from the Windfall Fund and the Lancashire Environmental Fund we are able to carry out conservation work with community groups, schools, PROSPECTS Panels, partner organisations and volunteers on the newly designated Local Nature Reserves, Whinney Hill Green Space and other sites across Hyndburn.

Our Conservation Officer Roger Plum will be taking out a group of trusty volunteers twice a week to carry out essential conservation management tasks on sites across the Borough and carrying out activities such as access improvements, tree felling, meadow management, Balsam bashing, making bird boxes and other habitat improvements.

Roger will also be working with schools either in the school grounds, in the classroom, with Eco-groups or with teachers on projects to suit the school looking at projects connected to any of our 6 Themes of Sustainability.

He will also work with the PROSPECTS Panels on any projects that they are developing and also with partner organisations such as Hyndburn Borough Council, Ribble Rivers Trust and Lancashire Wildlife Trust on sites/projects as they arise.

To get involved or for more information contact Roger Plum on 01254 230348 or
