DESCRIPTION:Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions. \n\nThis week\, we will be at Huncoat East woodland carrying out some coppicing work. This woodland has an abundance of Hazel that is a fair few years out of coppice rotation. We will be using hand tools like bow saws and loppers to properly coppice hazel\, and build ‘dragon’s nests’ around the stool to discourage grazing\, which in turn will promote growth. \nWe will be meeting on the layby on Altham Lane\, BB5 5US (27 Altham Lane on Google Maps\, just after the motorway bridge). \n\nTo find out more or confirm your attendance\, please contact Brandon at brandon.cherry@prospectsfoundation.org.uk or 07733 840842

SUMMARY:December 2025 Crafting Evenings #1 | Wreath Making
DESCRIPTION:Looking to create some natural and plastic-free festive decorations this winter? Our family-friendly Tuesday crafting evenings have you covered! All sessions will use materials harvested from local green spaces for the purpose of conservation\, meaning the crafts will be good for you and for nature. To top it all off\, we will have warm mulled punch (0%) and mince pies to get you in the festive spirit\, all for free! \nFor this session we will be doing a winter classic\, wreathes! The wreath bases will be constructed from willow and decorated with evergreen tree branches. \nThe materials will be selectively harvested from patches of woodland that will benefit from thinning.
