SUMMARY:Himalayan Balsam Bashing - Hyndburn's Nature Reserve Volunteers session @Jackhouse nature reserve
DESCRIPTION:The dreaded Invasive Non-Native Himalayan Balsam is rearing its ugly head again and we need your help to reduce its spread! Balsam can spread and dominate habitats unchecked which vastly reduces biodiversity as it outcompetes native wildflowers and starves pollinators like many solitary bees and butterflies. We will be pulling and/or bashing balsam across the site this summer. \nJoin us for our Hyndburn’s Nature Reserves project! There will be fortnightly conservation volunteers sessions at Jackhouse nature reserve\, on Wednesdays. SUMMARY:Brookside Community Camp Fire
DESCRIPTION:Join Alice and the Brookside volunteers around the campfire\, in our brand new gathering space! Expect smores\, crafts\, music and more. \nSome seating is available but camping chairs and rugs are much appreciated. \nAll are welcome but under 18s must be supervised by an adult at all times. Friendly dogs on leads are welcome. \nWe will meet on Stanhill Road at 7pm and make our way down together! \n \nAccess can be uneven and boggy\, so this event is suitable for those with limited mobility.
