We will be planting trees and shrubs at Rothwell Heights which is at the top of Willows Lane in Accrington and part of Woodnook Vale Local Nature Reserve. This week we'll be helping our friends from the Lancashire Wildlife Trust in managing the Hazel coppice at Foxhill Bank Nature Reserve in Oswaldtwistle. The work will involve regenerating a stand of hazel coppice to encourage the hazel stools to grow new rods and also to help encourage more ground flora in the stand. Join the Clayton & Altham Prospects Panel as they spend half a day looking after the Millennium Baby Woodland. The woodland was planted back in 2002 to commemorate all babies born in Hyndburn in the year 2000. The Panel intends to hold a celebration event in September 2021 to mark the 21st anniversary and this event is leading up to that.
