DESCRIPTION:Join our Community TreeACTION Officer Helen for a practical session at our new ‘Tree Nursery’ Allotment at Miller Fold! \nWe will be planting acorns and stratifying tree seeds\, so they can acclimatise over winter and germinate in the spring. We have camping chairs on site\, but please bring snacks and plenty of drinking water. \nWe will be meeting at the small car park at the top of Miller Fold Avenue\, Accrington\, BB5 0NT (more on-street parking available once the car park is full). Google maps link HERE. \nSite Accessibility – there is a short walk from the cars down a very uneven road. The allotment itself has bad access; the path down to the entrance is steep and overgrown! Wear good footwear and non-snag clothing.  \n\nEveryone welcome. DESCRIPTION:Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions. \nThis week we will be at Huncoat East woodland carrying out a deadhedging session. Tasks include coppicing hazel for material\, using axes to chip cut wood to a point\, hammering stakes into the ground\, and layering lengths of wood between the stakes to establish a dead-hedge. \nWe will be meeting at the layby on Altham Lane (closest postcode is 27 Altham Lane\, BB5 5US\, just after the motorway bridge on Google Maps). \nThere is limited parking on the layby\, but there is a second layby further down. \n\n\nTo find out more or confirm your attendance\, please contact Brandon at brandon.cherry@prospectsfoundation.org.uk or 07733 840842
