DESCRIPTION:Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions. \nThis session is part of a series that will assess the biological value of each of the 11 woodlands managed through the project. \n\nIf you are looking to get some experience in carrying out surveying work\, or you are just looking to improve you tree ID knowledge\, then look no further! \n\nTools\, gloves and PPE will be provided. Please wear sturdy boots\, long sleeves and full length trousers. \nWe will be meeting along Haslingden Old Road\, Oswaldtwistle\, Accrington\, BB5 3RG. There is on-street parking available. SUMMARY:Big Butterfly Count @ Brookside
DESCRIPTION:Join PROSPECTS as we take part in the UK’s biggest insect monitoring scheme. This session will take place at Brookside\, as part of our series of events across our reserves. \n\nDate: Tuesday 29th of July\nTime: 11am-1pm\nMeeting Location: The Noticeboard off Stanhill Road\, on the path to Kemp Delph\n\nEach big butterfly count will entail a 15 minute observation in a park\, allotment or wildlife reserve\, to count every butterfly that is using the area. \nNot only does it provide us useful data on what pollinators are using our green spaces\, it contributes to a huge pool of data collected by participants nationwide. Butterfly Conservation’s expert data analysts are then able to use this huge pool of data to inform our understanding of butterfly populations in the UK. \nFamily-friendly\, under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. \nContact robert.gabryszak@prospectsfoundation.org.uk for more info. \n
