SUMMARY:Whinney Hill - Hyndburn's Woodlands
DESCRIPTION:Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions. This week\, we will be back at Whinney Hill woodland carrying out some pathway maintenance. Tasks include cutting back vegetation along the paths. Secondary tasks include removing fly-tipping that has been identified. \nTools\, gloves and PPE will be provided. Please wear sturdy boots\, long sleeves and full length trousers as we may be working around brambles and nettles. Waterproofs may be needed\, depending on the weather. \nWe will be meeting at the end of Livingstone Road\, BB5 5BS (Next to the Livingstone Road Allotments). Staff will be in orange hi-vis. SUMMARY:Thursday Meadow Maintenance at Brookside
DESCRIPTION:Join our Brookside Development Office Alice for our regular Thursday session at Brookside! Much of the rare and valuable wildflower meadow habitat on site has degraded\, but we are working to restore them to their former glory. \nThis is a multi stage project\, and the first task is to cut back the overgrown grasses and remove the cuttings\, ready for seeds to be planted in Spring. \nWe meet at the Noticeboard by the Stanhill Road entrance to the site at 10am.
