SUMMARY:Brookside Spring Maintenance Day
DESCRIPTION:Join our Brookside Restoration Coordinator Alice for a day of practical maintenance work on the brand new Brookside Site! \nSpring has sprung and Brookside is flush with new leaves\, flowers\, and wildlife. Unfortunately\, the arrival of warmer weather means that the invasive non-native Himalayan Balsam is rapidly growing and spreading\, and will soon be forming seed pods ready to take over more of the site. \nWith your help\, we can “bash” the Balsam into submission\, and allow native species to thrive. \nWe will also be removing tree guards that have been left on site since the ELWOOD planting scheme of the early 2000s\, which will keep our precious trees healthy as they mature. \nMeeting point is the Kemp Delph entrance to Brookside\, on Stanhill Road. Staff will be in orange hi-vis. \nWhat3words: crowned.sits.paths  \nNo experience is necessary – just bring your enthusiasm! Come for part of the day if that works better for you. \n\nAll ages welcome but under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.\nPlease wear suitable outdoor clothes (long trousers and wellies/ walking boots)\nPlease bring lunch.
