SUMMARY:Tree Maintenance at Fern Gore
DESCRIPTION:Join our Community TreeACTION Officer Helen for a practical session involving various tree maintenance tasks\, to help our young trees next to Fern Gore Avenue that were planted through the TreeScapes initiative in 2022. We will be checking on all the trees\, removing any vegetation such as grass\, rushes and brambles that might outcompete the trees\, and fixing/replacing any wonky or broken stakes and shelters. \nWe will be meeting at Downham Dr\, Accrington\, BB5 0NR. On-street parking available. Staff will be in orange hi-vis. \nNo experience is necessary – just bring your enthusiasm! \n\nAll ages welcome. SUMMARY:Memorial Park - Dead hedging
DESCRIPTION:Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions\, every Wednesday at Memorial Park in Great Harwood. \nThis week\, we will be creating a natural dead hedge as part of the on-going works at the park. The dead hedge will act as a natural barrier for the planned forest school in the area. \n\n\nTools\, gloves and PPE will be provided. Please wear sturdy boots\, long sleeves and full length trousers as we may be working around brambles and nettles. Waterproofs may be needed\, depending on the weather. \nWe will be meeting on Church Lane\, Great Harwood\, BB6 7PU.
