DESCRIPTION:Join our Community TreeACTION Officer Helen for a practical session involving tree maintenance tasks to help our newly planted hedgerow near the King George Playing Fields in Woodnook Vale LNR. We will be checking on all the trees\, fixing/replacing any wonky or broken bamboo canes and shelters. \nWe will be meeting at the Royds Street entrance to Woodnook Vale LNR (next to a carved bench)\, Accrington\, BB5 2LW. Staff will be in orange hi-vis. \nNo experience is necessary – just bring your enthusiasm! \n\nAll ages welcome. SUMMARY:Memorial Park - Red Flowering Currant Removal and Rhody clearing
DESCRIPTION:Join Hyndburn’s Woodlands Officer Brandon for weekly practical conservation sessions\, every Wednesday at Memorial Park in Great Harwood. \nThis week\, we will be using hand tools to remove Red Flowering Currant which has begun encroaching into the woodland. Secondary tasks include using hand tools and spades to remove any left over Rhododendron and Cherry Laurel. \n\n\nTools\, gloves and PPE will be provided. Please wear sturdy boots\, long sleeves and full length trousers as we may be working around brambles and nettles. Waterproofs may be needed\, depending on the weather. \nWe will be meeting on Church Lane\, Great Harwood\, BB6 7PU.
