Habitat Management

Habitat management has been an important element of the Nature Walks project. Several of the 17 areas that have been improved are regularly managed to maintain and improve conditions for local wildlife. These include woodlands, grasslands, parks, moorlands and ponds. Volunteers who take part have learnt about coppicing, hedgelaying and using traditional tools such as scythes, bill hooks.
