28th April (Saturday) = Dawn Chorus early mornng walk.  Information and how to book HERE
 
MAY 2018
 
2nd May (Wednesday)  = Working Party at GrOING Wild community allotment.  Fancy getting out in the fresh air and helping at the GrOwING Wild Community Allotment, bottom of Hill Street, Baxenden?  Help spring clean the raised bed area.  All welcome, please wear wellies /boots, waterproofs.  Bring water to drink.  Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult please.  For more information please contact Julie Livesey, Rewilding Hyndburn’s Green Spaces Co-ordinator, Tel 01254 230348 etn 208, email Julie.livesey@prospectsfoundation.org.uk Mobile 07799-2952433
 
5th and 19th May (Saturday)  = Flowering Bug Hotels / Insect Homes - Parts 1 and 2 -  you needed to attended both sessions of this activity to complete your woodcrafted bug hotel. Workshop from 10:00am to 13:00pm each session.  Poster and deails HERE.  
 
We will be making more wildlife and habitats and  feeders during the rest of 2018 so take a look at the list and dates HERE
 
8th May (Tuesday) = Wetland Creation - plug planting wetland species with Ribble Rivers Trust - Details on the poster HERE

8th and 22nd May (Tuesday) = Crafts at PROSPECTS - drop in sessions - Join Us details here
 
8th May (Tuesday) = *Walk in the Woods from Haworth Art Gallery car park.  Join Spring Vale Rambling Class, Darwen on this local walk led by Barbara Sharples, PROSPECTS.  The walk is approximately 4 miles and should finish around 9pm.  Wear suitable clothing, sturdy (waterproof) footwear.  Bring waterproofs and water to drink.  Mixed terrain – expect mud and a number of stiles.   Email: barbara.sharples@prospectsfoundation.org.uk for more information.  Walk starts 7:00pm prompt.
 
10th May (Thursday)Foraging for Food with Danielle Kay see poster for all the details. HERE
 
22nd May (Tuesday) = Insect Friendly Herb Planters with Lyndsie Snape, Potty About Herbs, (ex Botany Bay).  Grow herbs for culinary and other uses and bring beneficial insects to your garden and backyard.  Booking Essential. Details HERE
 
28th May (Bank Holiday Monday) = Meet PROSPECTS in the Community Marquee at Great Harwood Agricultural Show

30th May (Wednesday) =  Walk in the Woods - Poster to follow asap.  May is the Tree Council’s Walk in the Woods month and we will be celebrating with a walk at Whinney Hill, Accrington to view the award winning woodland improvements.  The Whinney Hill Woodland improvements, by The PROSPECTS Foundation, resulted in PROSPECTS receiving the Lancashire Environmental Fund Winner of the 2017 Best Practice Award in the General Environmental category.

Improving Hyndburn's Wildlife Project
